Job Description | Guide and manage the work of CRP-EPs on behalf of the BRC. Coordinate between the SRLM project team and BRC to ensure timely implementation of SVEP (physical, financial, and timeline targets). Monitor and support SVEP progress in the block, providing feedback and suggestions for mid-course corrections. Document and share best practices from SVEP implementation. Train and guide BRC members on all aspects of the program to enable them to manage it independently. |
Required Educational Qualifications
Educational Qualification | Graduate or postgraduate study in any field that included mathematics up until class XII, ideally with experience in engineering, administration, or commerce. |
Work Experience | Requirements: 3-4 years of experience in non-farm livelihood initiatives or for-profit business operations. |
Language | Proficiency in spoken and written English and Hindi. |
Salary of for Mentor Position under SVEP Project on Contractual Basis
Pay Scale | Rs.30,000/- to Rs.35,000/- per month (negotiable) |
Preferences will be given more to :
- Experience in managing large-scale programs focused on non-farm livelihoods promotion for the rural poor, including enterprise promotion, business advisory services, and establishing forward and backward linkages.
- Proficient in program management with training experience.
- Strong skills in data-driven decision-making and data analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel or other spreadsheet software.
- Proven experience working in rural areas and promoting non-farm livelihoods in rural communities.
- Prior experience with the SVEP Project is an added advantage.
What will be the key responsibilities?
- Ensure SVEP program rollout in blocks, including baseline studies, market potential analysis, and DPR preparation.
- Coordinate between SRLM block staff, community organizations, and village-level project staff for SVEP implementation.
- Guide and train CRP-EPs and BRC members on all aspects of their roles.
- Participate in SVEP implementation processes.
- Operationalize and monitor the SVEP MIS, sharing progress with stakeholders (SRLM/PIA/NRO/NRLM).
- Implement the program using SVEP software.
- Ensure compliance with procurement norms and processes for BRC equipment.
- Institutionalize the Block Resource Centre as part of SRLM processes.
- Create a repository of business logic and training materials at BRCs.
- Serve on the State business advisory team, establishing benchmarks and providing seasonality-based business advisories.
Expectations from the Employee
- At least 2 years of experience in the non-farm livelihoods sector, working with successful businesses, producer organizations, SRLM, or SVEP-like projects.
- Strong numerical and business finance skills.
- Effective team player with the ability to work with individuals without direct reporting relationships.
- Data-driven, open to learning, and adaptable to ground realities.
- Compassionate towards the poor, able to view issues from their perspective.
- Honest, fair, and objective, with no bias based on gender, caste, class, region, or identity.
- Strong orientation toward training and development.
- Self-driven, motivated by social change and large-scale impact.
- Willing to travel extensively and stay in villages for 15-20 days a month.
